We'll refund any paid subscription or credit purchase within 7 days, as long as you haven't used any of the paid credits. Fair on both sides.
1 The 7-Day Window
You can request a refund within 7 calendar days of your purchase. After 7 days, purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by consumer-protection law in your country of residence.
2 What "Unused" Means
A purchase is refundable only if zero paid credits have been consumed. Generating even one quiz that uses the credits from that purchase disqualifies it from refund under this policy. We check this against your account's generation log.
Free credits provided with signup, promotions, or trials do not count toward this threshold — using free credits does not disqualify a paid purchase from refund.
3 How to Request
Email support@octoberai.net with:
- The email address on your October AI account
- The purchase date or transaction ID
- A brief reason (optional — it helps us improve the product, but you don't have to justify the request)
We'll reply within 2 business days.
4 Processing Time
Once approved, refunds are sent back to the original payment method. Processing takes 5–10 business days depending on your bank and country. We can't speed up your bank's side of things, but we'll send you a confirmation the moment we issue the refund.
5 What's Refundable
- Credit packs purchased in the last 7 days with zero credits used
- Subscription payments charged in the last 7 days with zero paid-tier credits used in the current billing period
- Accidental duplicate charges (refunded in full, no 7-day limit)
- Charges resulting from technical errors on our side (refunded in full, no limit)
6 What's Not Refundable
- Purchases older than 7 days
- Purchases where any paid credits have been used
- Subscription periods where the allotted paid credits have been consumed
- Accounts suspended or terminated for violating our Terms of Service (abuse, fraud, chargeback threats)
- Partial refunds for "unused portion" of a consumed billing period (we refund all or nothing within the window)
7 Subscription Cancellation vs Refund
These are different:
- Cancellation — stops future billing. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for. Do this anytime from Settings; no approval needed. Your current period is not refunded unless it falls within the 7-day window above.
- Refund — returns money already paid, subject to this policy.
8 Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please email us first. We'll investigate and refund legitimate errors immediately. Filing a chargeback with your bank without first contacting us may result in account suspension while we investigate, and recovery of chargeback fees from your account balance.
9 Your Statutory Rights
This policy does not limit any refund rights you have under the consumer-protection law of your country of residence. If the mandatory law where you live gives you stronger rights (for example, a 14-day right of withdrawal in the EU), those apply in addition to this policy.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy occasionally. Changes do not apply retroactively to purchases made before the update — you keep the refund rights that applied at the time of your purchase.
